PROCEDURES & RULES
PROCEDURES & RULES
- When you enter the room in the morning or in the afternoon, walk quietly to your seat and get ready for class routine. Be sure to look at the checklist on the board to make sure you have all the books and supplies you will need for the day.
- If you are in my homeroom, turn in any notes concerning how you will go home that day if there is a change in your normal routine.
- Get all materials ready, pencils sharpened, turn in your homework, and begin working on your morning work. Books, folders, journals, and supplies should be placed either in or under your desk.
- Write your heading every time you begin a paper. Write your first and last name, the date, and your grade and class (example 5T, 5C, or 5L). If you are completing an assignment on notebook paper, write your heading on your paper as it is posted on the board.
- Graded papers will be sent home each Monday in a folder. This will contain a sheet for your parent to sign. Your conduct sheet will be sent home in this folder as well for your parent to sign.
- During work time, you may get up to sharpen your pencil without the teacher’s permission. However, you may not leave the room or interrupt other students without permission. Do not sharpen your pencil while the teacher is teaching.
- Whenever you finish your work early, please read an AR book quietly, work on another assignment, or look at the “What to do when I’m done” sign on the board.
- Please do not remove paperback books or library books checked out in my name from the classroom. Also, do not open and remove any items from the teacher cabinets, shelves, or drawers without permission.
- Raise your hand whenever you have a question or need help with your work.
- If you need to go to the restroom, please raise your hand and show me the restroom sign. I will nod at you to go to the restroom so that no one is disturbed. If I am teaching, please do not ask to go to the restroom.
- The library will be open all day this year, so you will be allowed to go to the library during homework time. You need to make sure that you have already taken your AR test over the book before returning it.
- You are not allowed behind my desk at any time and may not remove items from my desk unless given permission.
- Whenever you leave the room, the procedure is to ask first.
- Whenever the class leaves the room, line up in number order unless otherwise asked.
- When the class passes through the hall, you will walk quietly and remain in line. There will be no talking, getting out of line, running, or pushing.
- When class is dismissed at the end of the day, bus riders will be called first. You will walk in line to the hallway where a teacher will escort you to the buses. Then, car riders will be called to line up at the door, and a teacher will escort you to the front of the school.
- If you ever have any questions or problems, please talk to me. I am here for you! These procedures are to help ensure that your fifth grade year is productive and safe. Have a great year! :)
